Healthy Boy

I took Nathan to the doc today, and he's just fine, I guess it's normal for breastfed babies to go a week without having a BM. Well at least I don't have to worry now. Our little boy is quite the ladies man, he was flirting with the doc, the receptionist and the nurse!

It's a sad day.....Nathan finally out-grew his baby sized bath towels. I think I'm going to use some of his Christmas money to get him his own special big boy towels. Kinda funny, Nathan has figured out how to suck the water out of his wash cloth during his bath.

Nathan sounds like Sable

Nathan is doing this funny little humming/moaning sound that Sable does. Not sure if it's something all little kids do, or if it comes from the Hills side of the family?

Good news! Got my 4whl drive fixed and it only cost $100!!! Yay!

A little worried about Nathan's tummy, he hasn't pooped since Christmas Eve, we might be going to the doc tomarrow. I have a feeling his tummy isn't ready for solid food yet.

Christmas 2010

We had a WONDERFUL Christmas! Nathan loved opening presents, his favorite was the bows, he would reach for them first every time. Billy, Nathan and I got everything we wanted and needed. Billy's family came over for dinner and we had a fun time playing the new version of Monopoly.

A good lesson

Nathan and I learned a valuable lesson today....It is not a smart idea to drag a cranky baby to Walmart and try to do a big grocery shop 2 days before Christmas.

Good news! All my holiday baking, cleaning, present buying and wrapping is done. Now it's time to kick back and enjoy the holiday with my wonderful family.

Ranch Visit

We went up to the ranch yesterday to visit and bring presents. We had a really nice visit with Jevon, Sarah and the kids. We even went for a horseback ride in the snow!

Unfortunately, as we were trying to go home, we figured out that my 4 wheel drive is no longer working and we couldn't even get out of the driveway. Jevon had to hook us up to the tractor and pull us out. Jevon is such a good big brother, he followed us out and down to Hwy 395 and helped us the several times we got stuck. What was normally a 1hr trip home, turned into 3hrs, Nathan was wonderful and slept the whole time. This is the very reason why we decided to stay home for Christmas!

I updated Nathan's baby book today, for some reason it's more fun to update the blog, than his book, go figure?

This baby sure likes to eat! I think it comes from the Reece side of the family :) He's so cute with cereal all over his face.

Early Bird

Nathan and Jasper decided to wake me up at 6am this morning. It never fails, I get up, shower, drink a bunch of coffee, and then Nathan decides it's time to go back to bed. Now here I am ready for the day, still tired, but too wired from the coffee to go back to sleep. Shoot!

Uggh! I hate being sick! Please let it go away quickly, there is so much I want to do this week.

Also I think pregnancy messed something up, I have one foot that is freezing and one foot is super hot??? What's up with that???

Poor Baby

Poor Nathan had to get shots today. I feel so bad, because he was in such a happy, sweet mood before, and then after he was cranky all day. Poor kid :(

We went to see great-grand ma Emma yesterday, and had a great visit. She thinks Nathan is just wonderful! She got him a little teddy bear for Christmas and he likes to chew and slobber on it's nose.

Tired Boy

Nathan slept more today than he was awake, poor kid I think he was tired. He is almost sitting up by himself now, and almost rolling from his back to tummy. It's really cute to see him trying move around more. As always he really likes his bath. Last night he splashed so much that my shirt got soaked, tonight I was smarter and ducked behind a towl as he was splashing away. We are trying cereal once a day now, and sometimes he's really into eating and other times, like today he is easily distracted. Nathan is definetly becoming more aware of the world around him, and noticing things, and now that his is a little bit more moble, going after them. Several times now I have proped him up on the couch with a toy, only to find that in trying to sit up and reach for the toy, he falls over on his face. We are very much into a routine now. One thing we do right before his bath, is to play "I'm gonna get you" and then we smother him with kisses and tickle him all over. It is so funny to hear him giggle! I wish I could catch it on video, but every time I turn on the camara, he gets the deer-in-the-headlights look.

Good news for me, I am finally down to the weight I was before I got pregnant. I can't tell you how nice it is to fit into my jeans again! I love breastfeeding...no special diet needed to get skinny!

Frosty Morning

Our first date

Billy and I had our first date together yesterday since before we had Nathan. It was really nice. Billy's parents gave us a gift certificate to Beaver Lodge, which was where we had our honeymoon. We sat by the window and looked at the pretty frozen lake. It was nice to have some grown up time, and talk about the future. We also cut down our christmas tree on Jim and DeeDee's property. It was fun tromping around in the snow, but boy was it cold! Today we decorated our Charlie Brown tree, it smells so good!

I stubbed my toe this morning while I was holding Nathan, It took everything I had not to drop him as I was howling in pain and hopping on one foot!

This week

Well I took Nathan in to get weighed today and he is 25in long and weighs 14lbs 8oz. He is right on track and is in the 50th percentile for his height and weight. This week he has been having a hard time with his teeth. The teeth haven't broke through yet, but his gums are puffy and sore. By the evening time he is usually so cranky that he can't fall asleep. Poor kid Nathan appears to be meeting his milestones, and is sitting up with support, cooing and squealing, kicking and reaching for toys. The only thing he is a little behind on is the rolling over, but it's too soon to worry about it. With his spitting up problem, it was suggested to me to keep him upright most of the time to prevent more spitting up, that combined with being cranky and teething he wants to be held most of the time(which i like to snuggle too, so it works out well).

I finished my classes yesterday and I got an A in both! Now I am deep cleaning and babyproofing the house and making homemade christmas presents.

Billy has been a big help with shoveling all the snow, he even does the neighbors driveway! Thank God for good husbands!!

Cranky Boy

Nathan is soo cranky today! I'm wondering if he is teething?? The only thing that makes him happy is to nurse, so we have been nursing morning, noon and night even if it's not time to eat.Poor baby :(

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving at Aunt Joyce's house. Driving in the snow was a little nerve racking though, I think we will be staying home for Christmas. Nathan even got a little taste of potatoes, gravy and sweet potatoes!
