Moving day

Today is moving day!! I am so excited to get into our new house!!!

I'm kinda sad to be leaving this house though, we have had a lot of special memories happen here. This was the home we came to after we got married, and this was also Nathan's first home. We had a lot of "life" happen here, and it feels like we are leaving something behind. I am looking forward to all the happy memories that we will have in the new house.

FYI: We will be without Internet for a few weeks, don't miss us too much.

Walking some more....

Tonight Nathan let go of Daddy's hands and walk 5-6 steps! We kept trying to get him to walk some more, most of the time he would just walk 3 steps and then sit down, but one time he actually paused mid-stride and changed directions. Nathan probably thought we were nuts, because Billy and I were yelling Hurray and clapping so enthusiastically. I am so proud of our baby boy! This was the perfect Father's day gift for daddy!

A special day

Today is the 1 year anniversary of the first time I went into labor with Nathan. A year ago today, I was working in the Wal-mart Deli cooking all the foods that went into the hot case. Part of my job was to write down the times that I made each batch of food, and after about a half hour of looking at the clock to write down the food times, it occurred to me that my contractions were every few minutes. I was pretty sure that I was just experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions, but just to be on the safe side I started writing down the times of each contraction, along with all of my cooking times. Sure enough my contractions were every two minutes and getting stronger! One of the ladies I worked with (who had 5 children herself) told me to sit down and drink some water to see if the contractions subsided. They didn't. I made it home in time to catch Billy before he left for work, and we decided to call the hospital since we couldn't get a hold of my doctor. The hospital said to come immediately! I remember the drive to the Chewelah hospital with a sense of excitement, was this the day my baby would come? I called all the grandparents to let them know they might have a new grand baby this day. Only when we got to the hospital did we realize that this was a very bad time for Nathan to come. I was only 34 1/2 weeks pregnant and if they couldn't stop the labor I would have to ride in an ambulance to Spokane's Sacred Heart Hospital because our small town hospital wasn't equipped for premature babies. The thought that I could have a premature baby really scared me. We also found out that my doctor was on vacation which was why we couldn't get in touch with him. Not having my trusted doctor there also added to the worry, as if for some reason I couldn't have this baby without him.

Thankfully the labor stopped. I spent most of that night laying awake in bed, snuggling with the baby blanket we brought for Nathan, and watching Billy sleep in the bed next to me, and thinking about our little baby. I was wondering what Nathan would look like, or what type of personality he would have, and most of all I couldn't wait to hold him.

Thus began six long weeks of bed rest. I spent alot of time eating watermelon and and Oreo cookies with milk, taking 5 minute walks in the sunshine, reading romance novels and watching my two favorite TV shows; the Biggest Looser and America's got talent. To this day still, I get a craving for Oreo cookies every time I watch either show.

Moving day

The house is done! We are moving in on Monday and we are so excited. It is amazing how a little paint can really clean things up and make a house look cozy. We had all of our new appliances delivered this week. Our landlords got us a brand new refrigerator and stove, and Billy and I picked up a used washer and dryer.

I can't wait to move in, our house is going to be so nice! Thanks again to our wonderful families for all there help.

Stair climber

We were at the new house the other day, when Nathan noticed the stairs for the first time. He promptly crawled over to them and proceeded to climb up the entire staircase without help! Grandma Dee Dee was right there with him, and he kept looking back at her as if to say, "what's the hold up, Grandma? We have stairs to climb" It's a good thing I've invested in a couple of baby gates.

Another new first, Nathan's top front teeth are coming in.

We had the whole family painting today. Pappa John got the walls, I got the windows, and Nathan was supervising.

We have been putting alot of work into our new house. The last people who lived here left it pretty dirty, so the landlord gave us 2 months rent free if we cleaned it up. It's a big project, but the house will look really cute when we are done. Thanks again for everyone's help!

We are moving! I went and picked up the keys today, and we are so excited to move. The house is a 3 bedroom log cabin on 10 acres, so that means we will have pasture for our horses and lot's of room for Nathan to play.

9 month photos

Here is Nathan's 9 month photo. Isn't he such a handsome little guy! I spent 3hrs today writing letters to all the family and sending out photos, so everyone will have a copy of this beautiful picture soon.

Yay!

Nathan did it! He walked for the first time today!!!!!! He was standing, holding on to the couch, and he turned and walk right towards me. I didn't even realize what happened until just after he did it. My baby boy is growing up!
