YAY tax return

We got our tax return!! Yahoo!

We are missing our family's so we decided to use it towards a trip to Seattle for Easter (April 21-26?) Billy has never been able to attend any of my family's big holiday's and our Easter party is so much fun! I am REALLY missing my family :(

We are also planning a trip to California in July so that Nathan and I can meet Billy's extended family. I thought it would be fun to go down for Nathan's 1st Birthday so that his family could be part of one of our special holiday's. We are also going to go to Billy's 10yr High School Reunion. I never went to mine so it should be fun, because Billy was alot more involved in his High School than I was.

Here is Nathan's 5 month photo we had taken earlier this month, he is wearing the overalls Uncle Jonny gave him for Christmas. (I will be mailing out copies to all the relatives soon)

6 month check up

We went to the doc yesterday for Nathan's check up and he is now 16lb 8oz and 261/2 inches long and is perfectly healthy. The doc mentioned that Nathan could gain a little weight, but he wasn't worried about it yet. We should probably start doing more solid food but Nathan sleeps most of the day or I have just nursed him, so finding the right time to sit him down to eat more than twice a day has been challenging. We started a new food last night, I made Nathan some pureed chicken with broth. He really liked it, but hasn't quiet got the chewing thing down and ended up choking on it. Scared Mom and Dad big time! I think we will stick to the strained veggies and fruits for a little longer.

The day before we went up to the ranch so that Jevon and Billy could go get hay. Nathan played with Jack and Emma, and I played in the sunshine with my horse. It was a good day!

Today starts my new schedule at work I am now working 2 half days and 2 full days. I think it will be good for my head to get out a little more, I've had cabin fever for about a month now. I love staying at home with our baby, but with all the snow and cold weather we can't even take walks. I'm looking forward to spring when we can get outside more!

Happy 6 months

Today Nathan is 6 months old. Wow the time has flown by fast! We have such an amazing, special little boy and feel truely blessed to have him in our lives. (I was working all day, and the only time I had to snap a picture of him, was when I put him to bed)

Cute Tushie

I just love Nathan's cute little tushie! I can just see him saying "MOM put the camera away, I'm naked here!"

The giggles

We play this game every night before Nathan's bath time, it's so cute to hear him giggle.

Sunshine!

The sun was shinning and so pretty today, so I bundled Nathan up, put him in the front pack and went for a walk. It felt so good to get outsided! I'm ready for spring and warmer weather so Nathan and I can spend some more time out of the house.

first party

Today Nathan attended his first Birthday Party. He was a little reserved at first because there were alot of people there that we don't know, but after a while he was squealing and playing with the rest of the kids.

The good things about going places with Nathan:
1) It's ok if you don't know anyone, everyone wants to talk to the baby. Great conversation piece!

2) It's ok if you want to leave early, no one wants to hear a cranky, tired baby.

Something new:
Nathan tried some cornbread at the party. He wasn't quite sure what to make of the texture, but he liked it.

Drinking water

We are trying to teach Nathan to drink water from a cup. Here is a video of Billy's Birthday party were Nathan is being really cute and making funny sounds. You can hear Daddy, Papa P, and Uncle Christopher in the background trying to get Nathan to make more funny sounds.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!

Today is Billy's 28th Birthday! Last night we had the family over for Billy's favorite dinner, homemade Lasagna and Chocolate Birthday cake. Billy wanted a Carhart Jacket and a face mask for his birthday, so I took a picture of him putting it to good use by shoveling snow. The rest of the pictures are of Billy's Birthday dinner. Almost there

I was watching Nathan play on his tummy today, and he is almost up on his hands and knees. He'll get his weight up on his hands and then he'll pull up one of his knees. He's not quite strong enough to lift up his tummy though. He is also rolling over from his tummy to his back more frequently. You should see the look on his face when he does it, it's like "How did that happen?"

Tired Boy

Nathan fell asleep while playing with his toy...Too cute!

Really cute things Nathan's doing:
-When he gets tired he rubs his eyes and his nose
-Sucking on the washcloth in his bath
-Talking and squeeling alot more
-When you feed him, he say's "yumm" with every bite

Really hard things to do:
-Put lotion on his face, he tries to eat your finger
-Clip his toenails, he's REALLY squirmy
-Changing his diaper and getting dressed, again REALLY squirmy
-Type on the computer while he's in my lap, he pulls everything that's on the desk off

On the go...

Nathan is up early and going after everything, I'm a little afraid for when he leans to crawl...I don't think I'll be able to keep up!

I saw twin babies at Walmart yesterday that are a month older than Nathan......I'm REALLY glad we don't have twins I definetly wouldn't be able to keep up with them.

Big Boy

Nathan is trying so hard to sit up, he has started useing his elbows to get himself propped up....he's almost there!

Really Funny

Nathan was taking a bath and couldn't quite reach his washcloth, so he used both his feet to grab it and bring it closer so he could reach for it with his hands. Our baby is so smart!

Making a difference

Today I was thinking about how I can't wait to be done with school, so that I can have a job that makes a difference in peoples lives, then I realized I already have one, I'm a mom!!
